Luckily for Dopethrone this is no originality contest, they wouldn't score very high on that chart. But what they do here, is very good in it's own right. Hazy, weed-crazy riffing, a few samples here and there, the fat wall of sound, the muffled drums, bile-filled vocals, and oh yeah, did I mention that groovy, old-school riffing yet? Eight pretty short and varied songs on this disc, spanning a bit over 30 minutes. Hope they will keep going, this being their first release, they can improve and become quite a monolith in the future. Keep an eye out on their MySpace.
