Techno Animal - We can build you (Feat. EL-P & Vast Aire Kramer) (2001)

Feels almost celebratory, my last Techno Animal post for a while. A 12" promotional EP by Matador which was given out on Techno Animal's US tour. "We can build you" is the album version from "The brotherhood of the bomb". The aforementioned song is then mixed by Mr. Oizo. Edition of 1000 pieces. Enjoy!

Techno Animal vs. Reality (1998)

Released by City Slang in 1997, this puppy features five original songs and their remix counterparts. The third track, Deceleration, is one of the best tracks ever released by Techno Animal, but that's just my humble opinion. For more info, check here. Enjoy!

Techno Animal - The brotherhood of the bomb (2001)

The epitome of industrial hip-hop, period. Released on the 11th of September 2001, Techno Animal presents us with 12 tracks of distorted beats, shrilling noises, sub-zero bass tracks and bile-filled rap. Half of the album features rapping, the other half is instrumental. Featured artists include: Divine Styler, El-P/Cannibal Ox, Anti Pop Consortium, Rubberroom, Dälek and Toastie Taylor. Intense and noisy, play this one loud!

Techno Animal - Brotherhood of the bomb/Monolith (1999)

This limited Techno Animal 12" came out in April 1999 on Force Inc. It features two tracks, "Brotherhood of the bomb" and "Monolith". Giving credit where credit is due, I think I ran into this on the "Sickness Abounds"-blog quite a few moons ago, thank you!

Techno Animal - The Peel sessions 7.5.1998 (1998)

As most of you are aware, John Peel had a radio show on BBC1 called .. surprise surprise .. "The Peel sessions". During his lifetime over 4000 sessions were recorded by over 2000 artists. They usually featured four songs recorded over the course of one day, resulting in a rough and unfinished, demo-like feel .. this is one of those sessions.

The setlist is: "Demonoid", "King cobra", "Monomaniacal" and "Skulldriver".

Techno Animal - Radio Hades (1998)

This was released in the late September of 1998 on Position Chrome, and is basically a compilation of older, remixed and deconstructed, Techno Animal tracks. Ferocious industrial drum and bass, this is one bad mofo to handle. For more info, click here.

Techno Animal - Re-entry (1995)

This album should be one of the reasons why people should have good sound systems. And open minds for new music for that matter, but that's a completely different story. This is more ambient than most ambient, heavier than most metal, darker than the dystopia of Blade Runner, more psychedelic than most psychedelic trance, groovier than most dub reggae and somehow more organic than a hippie playing an acoustic guitar even though it's more industrial than industrial music .. This is not music that starts and ends, there's no introduction, no development and most importantly, no choruses. Approach with an open mind and you shall be rewarded. More album info here.

Techno Animal - Ghosts (1991)

Sorry, there's no techno or animalistic party here, just gritty and bouncy industrial served us by Justin Broadrick and Kevin Martin. A dark, menacing and fierce album mixing together the sounds of God and Godflesh, the bands which both guys respectively fronted at that time. So, if you're into one or both of previously mentioned bands, GET.THIS.NOW. I'm not kidding, this is great stuff! Check out the tracklist and more info here.

Justin K. Broadrick on "Red bull music academy" radio show

Meet Justin Broadrick: pioneering musician, guitarist, songwriter, drummer and all around visionary. His trailblazing, incredibly productive recording career most notably includes stints in the formative grindcore band Napalm Death (circa Scum), the pioneering industrial metal band Godflesh, who after some years apart have reformed this year for more mayhem and Jesu, a celebrated experimental rock band that has been fusing his previous endeavors with traces of shoegazing beauty. Not to mention, of course, his various works with the talented Kevin Martin as Techno Animal. Mere paragraphs of uniform text cannot do justice to the lucid landscapes, melancholy majesty and sheer aural ecstacy Broadrick conjures in his mind. Suffice to say you have not listened to the most eloquent, articulate use of a guitar until you have heard the sombre strains of Broadrick's work engraving it's name on every sinew of your body. Go on, I dare you.

It's basically an one hour long interview with musical interludes. Going through a broad spectrum of Justins music, giving insights on the upcoming Hellfest-appearance and generally sounding like a nice chap, I think this is a "must hear"-interview for all interested parties.

The playlist is the following:
Final - Little pictures
Final - The light orchestra
Fall Of Because - Life is easy
Napalm Death - Scum
Godflesh - Frail
Godflesh - Like rats
Godflesh - Circle of shit
Godflesh - Mothra
Ice - X-1
Techno Animal - Needle park
Techno Animal - Hell
Curse Of The Golden Vampire - Total annihilation of self
Tech Level 2 - Whowanseekwar
Jesu - Deflated
Jesu - End of the road
Pantera - By demons be driven (Biomechanical remix)
Greymachine - Vultures descend

Enjoy the interview!
